Yum, Yum, Good!

Pretzel Recipe:

Serves 4

What you need:


2/3 cup warm water
3/4 tsp. active yeast
1 Tbs. brown sugar {packed}
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups flour

{Dipping solution}

2 cups hot water

2 Tbs. baking soda


2 Tbs. butter

Coarse sea salt


For the dough, mix together water, yeast, and sugar. Let that mixture sit for 2-3 minutes.

Add in your salt and flour.  Knead for five minutes or until the dough becomes smooth.

Roll the kneaded dough into a ball, place in an oven safe bowl, and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm place. {Do not put it in such a warm place that it cooks! Been there…done that :)}


While you are waiting for the dough to rise…make the water solution. Mix together the hot water and baking soda, and stir until the baking soda dissolves.


After the dough has risen, pinch off a ¼ of dough and roll into a long rope.
Form the dough into the traditional pretzel shape. {Or any shape you want}


Dip the pretzel dough into the baking soda solution, and place on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 450 degree oven for about 5 minutes.  When 5 minutes is up, quickly brush with melted butter and place them back in the oven for another 5 minutes until golden brown.

When they are out of the oven, brush again with some melted butter.

Now Sprinkle coarse sea salt over those delectable little things and serve!
