A quilt a month: June

Here it is, like I promised! My June Quilt!

Just like the dog quilt, this puff quilt is for an itty bitty babe

It is a rag quilt/puff quilt

It is basically a LARGE floor pillow! :)

My Cow Ate My Homework

By: Caroline Williams

j

My cow ate my homework, I’m honest, it’s true!

First it was eating grass and then next thing I knew,

My essay, my test, and my arithmetic too.

Do believe me, oh please, I’m telling the truth,

Hook me to a lie detector, hire a sleuth.

For you see my cow is a special kind of critter,

He likes grass, wheat, rice, beans and a big apple fritter.

But his favorite thing to eat oh teacher, oh dear,

Is my homework so sweet and this fact makes me fear.

He likes homework so much that the answer is clear,

He might one day decide to come and eat you,

Now this would be bad, your family might sue!

So to save all this heartache and keep you in tact,

I suggest we shake hands and make a forever pact.

You will assign no more homework, now this would be swell,

my cow will not eat you; you can ring the school bell.

He eats homework so often I don’t want him to do you harm,

He really is a nice cow, he lives in my small barn.

So teacher, be sweet, don’t assign anything new,

Remember, I love homework, I’m just looking after you.

Wednesday Devotion :)

Today, I just want to leave you with a small passage I read in the Bible this Morning, and a devotional that went with it. The devotional is called “Jesus Calling” By Sarah Young. It is written as if God was telling you something. Love this devotional and totally recommend it!

Alrighty, enjoy!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.” Short and sweet, right?

Psalm 62:5 “My soul wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.”

Sarah says:

“Rest in Me, My child. Give your mind a break from planning and trying to anticipate what will happen. Pray continually, asking My Spirit to take charge of the details of this day. Remember that you are on a journey with Me. When you try to peer into the future and plan for every possibility, you ignore your constant Companion [the LORD] who sustains you moment by moment. As you gaze anxiously into the distance, you don’t even feel the strong grip of My hand holding yours. How foolish you are, My child!

Remembrance of Me is a daily discipline. Never lose sight of My Presence with you. This will keep you resting in Me all day, every day.”

So as life picks up and gets busy this Summer, remember to seek the LORD always. Don’t let wedding planning and summer vacations get in your way of seeking after our creator.

That’s all folks!

Chow!

Diy: Patriotic letter wreath

WreathBring a little patrioticness to your front door with this easy DIY!

All you need is paint, tape, and one letter, make that one GIANT letter.

Wreath 009

I started by painting the whole letter white (you may need 2 coats)

Once it dries, grab some painter’s tape and tape off the sections for the stripes. Oh yes, and I know I have more than 13 stripes- heehee (I have more than 50 stars too!)

Wreath 010

Here is a simple little trick to keep your paint from smearing under the tape. With this little trick, you can have perfect lines (almost) every time. Simply paint over the tape with the color that is underneath the tape. In my case, white. This will seal the tape in place.

Wreath 013Can someone tell me what face my dog is making?

Once that dries you can paint over the tape again but this time with red. Once that dries, you can do the same sort of thing with the blue paint. As you can see in the other pictures I was testing my blue color :)

And actually, little side note, to get the blue line straight, I didn’t use tape (I’m such a rebel lol) I just carefully painted.

Wreath 026

The stars are easy peasey! News flash! shirt paint isn’t just for shirts! bwhahahaha! To make my stars nice and crisp I simply pumped on the shirt paint. Its way easier than painting them on with a brush. OH OH! And guess what… I painted some of them with glow in the dark shirt paint so they will glow at night! I know, right?

Wreath 018 Wreath 021

That’s basically it.

Command strips are great for hanging this project or you can use a ribbon or an actual wreath hanger.

Wednesday

by: Caroline Williams

k

Mmmmmm….Coffee, friends, and a happy heart,

Waking up each morning with a fresh new start.

Brush my teeth and brush my hair,

Pick out for the day what I will wear.

To Kroger, Hobby Lobby, and home again,

I got food and fabric, it’s a win-win!

My day has started it has begun,

Now to play with my dogs and swim in the sun.

The afternoon hits, it’s sewing and lunch,

Reading, Crafting, or Something to munch!

The evening arrives, time to blog for all y’all,

Whether that post may be big or that post may be small.

Then night rolls around, to a soft bed I have gone,

My head on my pillow, the lights are not on.

So that is my life, on this Wednesday so fare,

I hope you enjoyed it and took a moment to care.

To my friends, to my family, to my readers galore:

“I wish you a happy day and many, many more!
