DIY dog bone leash holder – simple and stylish…the best combination

Sometimes we put our great treasures in museums, other times, we take them on walks.

If you know me, you know about my adorable puppy dogs! I’m kinda that crazy lady who posts picture after picture on Facebook of the little fur balls :)

They have started to get bigger and it was time to start taking them on walks.

Time to show them the ropes (no pun intended)

They needed a place for leashes, so I made something, and want to share it with you:

“HAHA! I sneaked a picture of Maximus in! or is it snuck…sneck…sneekeded?”

::fist pump::

what you need

  • 1 1/4” white cup hooks or any other hook (white cup hooks were only $2 for a pack of 2)
  • Wood
  • Paint (optional)
  • Picture hanger

how to make it

This is a really simple DIY. Literally, 5 steps!

Don’t believe me?

Challenge accepted…

1. Draw a bone shape onto a piece of wood and cut it out with a jigsaw. I actually used an old shelf that was about to go into the trash, so this part was free!

2. Sand the edges smooth

3. Paint if desired (Since this is optional, I shouldn’t even count this as a step, right?)

4. Center and hand screw the cup hooks into the bone shape

5. Add the picture hanger to the back and hang! BAM! 5 steps! bwhahaha

How do your leashes look? Good, I bet! Hope you like it, and don’t hesitate to send me a pic on Facebook @Sweet16inStitches of your item and be featured in an upcoming post!

Like and share and I will be eternally grateful :)

DIY balloon invitation (blow up and pop)

Forget all the reasons why it won’t work, and believe the one reason why it will.

Tons of awesomeness is happening soon! To start, lil’bro is getting older on March 8th!

Happy Birthday Pal!

Also, I’m going to share a bedroom tutorial with you! Just between me and you, I’m redoing lil’bro’s room and I am going to surprise him with the finished product soon. :) I think I’m the one who is extra excited!!!

There will be a DIY tutorial for an industrial coffee table, a solid wood bed for under 50$, coasters, and more! Come back often to check all of these things out. Oooooooor……search for what your looking for in the search bar on the right side of the screen! –>

Today though, it is invitation time! To have a birthday, you have to send out invitations, so how about making some cute ones? These invitations are pop-able too! Want to know more? Read on Chickadee:

All you need to make each invitation is:

Cut the invitation details to size, roll up like a diploma, tie with string and stuff into the balloon

Poke two little holes in the invitation small enough to keep the balloon “neck” in place. Measure if needed.

With the party details inside, tie the balloon to the card with DIY bakers twine or other string.

Giveaway time – Tacky pack & fabric

I have been gluing a LOT lately, and I mean a lot. Fabric, felt, you name it! Those little noses on my fox and wolf masks are glued on for a professional finished look, and I have been fray checking the ends of one of my unfinished quilts.

What glue did I use?

Aleene’s of course! I love this brand of fabric glue and it holds wonderfully! They also have other kinds of bonding materials. They have fabric glue, flexible stretchable, stop fray, and so much more!  I would love to give you the chance to use all three of these (and maybe some fabric to test it on) How about getting it all for free?

It’s giveaway time!
