I made 2 quilts this month.

They are both for dogs -Ha! They are crib size and super adorable. My favorite is the blue one. It’s for Paco the Chihuahua and the pink one is for a new Pomeranian puppy named Penelope!

More quilts coming in March! :)

Emma Grace’s Floor Quilt

I made this quilt back in December, but forgot to share it with you guys! It was made for my brand new little cousin Emma Grace for a Christmas present.

Softest quilt I have ever made:

Made with Minky & a soft fuzzy fabric & Flannel! Oh! How I wish I could keep every quilt I made! -Ha

It’s Hello Kitty all the way and a perfect floor size.

She really enjoyed it, and it was a joy to make :)

DIY Carrot & Oat Dog Treats

“Beware of the dog…he wants cuddles!”

Dog treats 024

(Be aware that some animals are allergic to wheat and other ingredients. Use caution)

  • 1/4 c. Unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 1/2 Tbs. peanut butter
  • 2 2/3c. Flour
  • 1/2 c. Cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. Oats
  • 3/4 c. Shredded carrot
  • 1/4 c. Coconut  water

Preheat oven to 400 F

Combine all the ingredients together and mix well.

Flour a flat surface and place a small ball of the dough onto it. For an easy option, roll out the dough into a snake type shape (1/2 – 1” thick) and cut into one inch bites with a knife. The knife will kinda seal off the edge and give it a “finished look”

Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool before storing or feeding to your dog.

Maximus and Titus know when I am making treats. They have like, 6 senses: Touch, Sight, Smell, Taste, Hearing, and Treat detection.

They love goodies, and I love making them! Here is a simple milk bone recipe that will keep your Fido happy, happy, happy.

(Be aware that some animals are allergic to wheat and other ingredients. Use caution)

Materials: (or should I say ingredients)

  • 3/4 c. Hot water
  • 1/3 c. Butter
  • 1/4 c. Whole milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 c. White flour + 1 c. Oat flour (you can sub either for the other)
  • 2 Tbs. peanut butter

How to make them:

Preheat the oven to 325 F

Mix together the butter and water. Add in the milk and the egg and stir.

Mix in the flour a little at a time until everything is combined, then add the PB :)

Mix well and add more flour if needed.

Flour a flat surface and roll the dough to about a 1/2” thickness. Cut into the desired shape and place on a baking sheet (no need to grease it)

Bake for 50 minutes to an hour or until golden brown.

Let cool completely before feeding to Fido.

Follower Friday

follower friday yellow

Hey everyone! I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while, and so today is the day! Everyone who is reading this is what I call a “follower.” You may come every day, maybe once a month, maybe this is your first time at littlebrighteyes.net, but welcome, glad you are here!

Anyways, I would love for all of us to get to know each other better with “Follower Friday” Maybe not every week, but every Friday or so, I would love to post pictures of other people’s work, and what they are up to in the craft world! I would love for you to be apart of it!

Whether you made a quilt, organized your craft room, made pom poms, knitted a 3 arm sweater on accident, I would love to hear all about it!

Send me your story or pics (or both) to Facebook @Sweet16inStitches and have a chance to be featured in an upcoming blog post! No Facebook? Feel free to scroll down to the bottom and “leave a reply”

Even send me a message on Twitter @DIYCaroline

I can’t wait to get to know all of Y’all!

To start this Follower Friday, I have a few creations made by the winner of the 6.5” ruler….Susan!

Sunshine quilt

I love this quilt! It’s simple, but still makes for a lovely bundle of warmth. Susan made it for her friend’s daughter which they named: “Emme Sunshine” (hints the words on the quilt)

::wink wink::

I can’t get over the cuteness!

Here are a few more she has made too!

“This is a wall hanging for a house warming gift for a friend that collects fiesta ware and dachshunds…she has two of her own that are like her babies.” Called: “Its a Fiesta”

Susan says: This is my first art quilt.  This is a replica of our church building.  It was made for a family that was moving from our church family.  I appliqued, thread painted, and used crayon and paint.  Called: “A Remembrance”

Lovely Susan!!!

Oh! and if anyone wants to talk Quilts, you can contact Susan here: srsquilts@gmail.com

Happy Quilting!
